All, Just a tip until the new (MRS) mail list gets put in place.
Most likely, if you are sure you are subscribed to this list but you are not seeing your messages posted, it may be because of the requirement to have your "send to" and "receive" email addresses match. This is a SPAM prevention precaution. If your company has changed email domains and you have a new email address, you should "unsubscribe" from this list and "subscribe" again with your new address. You may be receiving email from the list because your IS department has set up an alias that automatically forwards your email - but you will not be able to post messages because of the miss-match. The posts are getting through but at least half of them from certain members are empty, even my own. There is a subject line but the message body is empty except for the info on how to unsubscribe. I did that and I don't think they ever got my mail either because I tried twice and never heard back. I just sent a test message to the group and didn't get it back either. So I'm writing this to you in hopes that you can relay the message or take this on yourself. Any of the guys that have been in this group for a long time would have a great list of "members" addresses. All they would have to do would be, create an address "GROUP" and distribute it to everyone already in the group. Then instead of sending questions to the server just send it to everyone in the group. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2003 10:37 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [mfg-smartcam] Here is what we have Our company has been using SmartCAM since v4.0, so I'll put my hat into the ring Currently on our server there are: 15,769 SH2 Shape files created since 1990 134,389 PM4 Process Model files created since 1998 That's a total of 150,158 SmartCAM Shape and Process Model files created since 1990 This is not counting all the SH2 Shape files created between 1987 and 1990 that have since been archived to CD ROM. We migrated directly from v4.5 to v10, so we have no production SH3 files other than the few (less than 50) created with tape to shape. Gregg, Most of these files were created using the fabrication module/application. The now defunct Building Blocks had some kind of agreement with EDS for the licensing and support of SmartCAM Fabrication. That is why at the end SDRC could severely cut the price of ATURN, FFM and give AWEDM away free to milling users, but did not drop the price of AFAB. What will become of the fabrication module since Gary Whitlock of Whitlock Engineering has taken ownership of Building Blocks CIMBLOCK product? I know Milling is first in line for an update with Turning next, but can MRS eventually support the full breath of all former SmartCAM products? I know I'm not the only Fab user out there. ========================================= Fred Lauzus, CAM Programming Coordinator High Steel Structures, Inc. <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] <http://www.highsteel.com> www.highsteel.com ========================================= -----Original Message----- From: Tony Gossett [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2003 7:57 AM To: List Subject: [mfg-smartcam] Here is what we have This is great news!!!!!! 73,281 sh3 and pm4 files 36,326 for one company Tony Gossett CNC Programmer Kays Engineering Inc Marshall, MO ====================================================================== To find out more about this mailing list including how to unsubscribe, send the message "info mfg-smartcam" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ====================================================================== ====================================================================== To find out more about this mailing list including how to unsubscribe, send the message "info mfg-smartcam" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ====================================================================== ====================================================================== To find out more about this mailing list including how to unsubscribe, send the message "info mfg-smartcam" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] ======================================================================
