After being in captivity for almost eight hours, Manish Dongre <http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/search?q=Manish%20Dongre> was rescued by the family from forest office diversion no.8 on Wardha Road, about 20 kms from city.
Dongre, a resident of Kadbi square, was lured with a treat and abducted from near his residence. "As usual, he had gone to have a cup of tea with his friends at 12 noon on Saturday. His friend Amar enticed him with offer of tea and some snacks and took him on his bike to Rani Durgawati square at Itwari <http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/search?q=Itwari>," said Manish's younger brother Vishal. Vishal added that though Manish is a mental patient, he can remember phone numbers very well. After reaching Itwari, Amar introduced him to four other friends. One of them had a car. Manish, who is fond of having a ride in car, agreed to go with them. "After travelling some distance, they started teasing me. Later, they started punching me and hitting me with wooden sticks. I asked them why they were doing it, but no one replied," said Manish who is still under a shock. After reaching Wardha, the abductors took a left turn and entered a small lane and locked up Dongre in a small hut located in a deserted place. There they hit him till he fell unconscious. He was then tied with nylon rope to a wooden pillar, said a cop of Jaripatka police<http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/search?q=Jaripatka%20police> station. Manish's mother Jaimala, who was already worried about his going missing, received a call from an unknown number at 8 pm. "The person who called me informed me about the abduction and threatened of dire consequences. He demanded 15,000 cash and told to keep ready all the valuables present in the house. Within a minute, the call was disconnected," said Vishal, a karate teacher. Vishal immediately informed the Jaripatka police. "As I was leaving for the police station, five people came on three bikes and asked for money. A relative, Dheeraj Samudre<http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/search?q=Dheeraj%20Samudre>, engaged them in talks while I called the cops," added Vishal. The abductors had hit Manish until he fell unconscious and thrown him in a nullah on Wardha road. A passer-by saw him and gave him preliminary treatment and brought him to consciousness.
