<http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/> Three inmates beaten up in home for mentally-challengedTNN, Aug 29, 2010, 04.03am IST NEW DELHI: Three adult inmates at the state run- Asha Kiran Home for mentally challenged adults and children in Rohini were allegedly thrashed by a drunk caretaker who assaulted the victims with a stick.
A police complaint has been made by an activist on Saturday at the Vijay Vihar police station and further investigations are on. According to the activist who has lodged the complaint, the incident happened on Wednesday night. Three inmates in the age group of 18 to 20 years were sitting in adult dormitory-II. Identified as Anish, Dinesh and Kishna, the trio was allegedly beaten up by a drunk caretaker as the boys were not sleeping. The victims were then taken to the medical room at Asha Kiran which allegedly recorded in a report that the boys had suffered injuries but did not mention the reason. A complaint was lodged on Saturday evening by an activist who visits the home regularly.
