*September 27th, 2010* CHENNAI: The mentally-challenged youth from Ennore, who had two women claiming to be his mother, was on Wednesday taken to the government general hospital where samples were taken for an age test to be conducted to ascertain his parentage. This followed a Tiruvottiyur court's order on Tuesday. Magistrate K Kannan had handed over the youth, Manikandan alias Kumaravel, to the police.
"After doctors gave a letter saying we could collect the result on August 31 or September 1, we took Manikandan back to the magistrate who ordered him admitted to the Institute of Mental Health Hospital in Kilpauk till then," Ennore inspector N Nedumaran told TOI. "The fate will be decided once the doctor's report is known. I am praying to God to get back my son. For the past three years, since the disappearance of my son, I haven't slept well. Now, I am unhappy as I haven't been able to look after my son even after he was rescued," Kalaiselvi, one of the two women claiming to be Manikandan's mother, told TOI.
