*October 8th, 2010* *CHENNAI:* A 42-year-old mentally challenged man from Jharkhand, who had been in the Institute of Mental Health ( IMH) here for seven years and later shifted to Anbagam, an NGO near Tiruvallur, was reunited with his family members on Tuesday, after 18 years.
A visibly happy Babu Saw spoke to The Times of India. "I am happy to see my son Pintu Kumar, who is now 20 years old. I saw him last when he was so small (puts his right hand below his knee)," he said. When asked about his wife, his face glowed and he said, "My wife's name is Anitha Kumari and I am going to see her too." According to officials of Anbagam, Babu Saw's wife had very recently got married to another man in her hometown. "When we questioned the victim and he gave us some vague address in Jharkhand and the name of his wife. We traced her and wrote saying her husband was in the custody of our organisation. Though married to another man, she gave the letter to Babu Saw's brothers. Initially, the family planned to leave for Chennai a few days before the verdict on the Ayodhya issue was out but later postponed the trip," Anbagam founder-director Mohammad Rafi told TOI. Seetharam Saw (32), younger brother of Babu Saw, and his nephew Upendra Saw (25) came to Chennai to take him back to his hometown. Seetharam Saw said: "We work as rickshaw pullers in Jamshedpur and belong to a small village called Lukum near the steel town. Babu Saw is the eldest in our family.
