*Nagpur* : Suspected Naxalites chopped off the hands and gouged out eyes of Santosh Gulab Mishra, a mentally-challenged 26-year-old, missing from Madhubani district of Bihar, before shooting him dead in the Kasansur area of Gadchiroli on Sunday. The Bihar Police have confirmed the details about the deceased that the Gadchiroli police learnt from a pamphlet left behind by Naxals at the spot of murder. The pamphlet described Santosh as “a police man”. On Tuesday, Mishra’s body was cremated by his brother. Rohit, who works in a Chennai hotel, reached Gadchiroli on Tuesday to identify the deceased. He identified the body of his elder brother who had gone missing from their home in Sonai village in Madhubani district. Sources said Santosh used to openly talk against Naxalites, calling them “bad people” and that must have led to his killing. “It seems they tried to get information about his real identity and in the process chopped his hands off and took out his eyes. But because he was mentally-challenged, he had nothing to reveal. So, finally, they killed him,” Additional Superintendent of Police Chandrakishore Meena told The Indian Express. He said the police had no prior information about Mishra’s movement in the area. “All reports have to be corroborated before we could say anything.” “He was missing from his native village for about five months.
