*MUMBAI *: A 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a
mentally-challenged senior citizen in Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli, on Thursday.
The 65-year-old was alone at home at the time of the incident.

The Vikhroli police said that the victim's relative, who resides in the same
locality, saw the accused, Suresh Ingale, enter the victim's hut at 9 pm.
''As Ingale also lived in the same locality they thought that he had gone to
visit the victim. But when they saw Ingale leave the house half-an-hour
later, they grew suspicious and went to see if everything was fine. When
they went to the victim's house, they found her lying naked on the floor,''
a police official said.

The neighbours caught Ingale and informed the police. During interrogation,
Ingale revealed that he saw the door of the victim's house open. So he took
advantage of the situation and raped the 65-year-old. Ingale has been booked
under Section 378 (rape) of the IPC. The accused was in an inebriated state
at the time of the incident, the police said.
