Received this from a friend's friend : Here's the note on my mom I said I'd send you.
My mother, was a well-known women's rights activist, writer and public figure in her working years. Over the last 5 years, she has been leading a semi-retired life. In 2007, we diagnosed her condition as Alzheimer's Disease at NIMHANS (Bangalore) which we visit for periodic medical reviews. While she is on prescribed medication for AD, the doctor insists that we monitor and encourage daily activities that stimulate her mind such as simple crosswords, basic-level sudoku, diary-writing, describing what she reads in the papers etc. My father and I are looking to hire someone who can monitor these activities for a few hours daily or even a few days in a week. But we don't quite know where or how to start looking. The person needs to have some understanding / empathy with her condition of course. It would be ideal if the person could visit our home and provide this service. We live on Spurtank Road, Chetpet. thanks a lot, K -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Mental Health Advocacy (News 'N Views) India" group.
