*16 September 2011* *JAMSHEDPUR *: A 22-year-old mentally challenged woman was allegedly gang-raped in Haludbani area under Pursudih police station on late Thursday night.
According to police, Phulan Devi (name changed) who was missing for the last two days was found on Friday. According to the FIR lodged by the victim's husband, a financially poor man, three local youths coerced her wife to a secluded place and raped her on Thursday night. On Thursday, the victim's husband had informed police that her wife is missing for the last two days and this morning he went to the police station accompanying her wife and lodged a rape complaint against three men. "Following the complaint, police have arrested two people and raids are on to nab the other accused," said Tamil Vanan, city police superintendent.
