Vaishnavi thnx for this information. We need to review the present policy of not running homes which makes thousands rush to few states where charities run homes. So far , the PMI has become an unwanted child for everyone - for the families and MH profs and even the State. . Families are blamed because they have no power and easiest to blame them because they cannot argue with the powers that be. Also the visibility of packing off their PMIs is seen at railway stations and in street corners , chasing away their beloved ones. So easy to point out fingers at them. I think the State must share its blame for turning a Nelson's eye to this human tragedy. So also the MH professionals who discourage the State from opening such homes saying families will dump them. At the same time, these professionals render their time and expertise to such homes run in private sector on profit basis. Why this doublespeak? God bless nirmala
