*9-Feb- 2012* * * *NEW DELHI* : A mentally challenged woman lodged in a shelter home is suspected to have strangled her infant child at Hari Nagar in West Delhi. An inquiry into the incident is being conducted by the area Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
The incident took place on Monday when the infant was found dead in the woman's lap. Suspecting that something was amiss, the shelter home staff informed the authorities about the 20-day-old infant's death. Subsequently, the area SDM initiated a probe into the matter. It is learnt that a medical board conducted post-mortem on the child's body.
