30-Apr-2014 RAJKOT: A man allegedly murdered his wife and went on to attempt suicide on Tuesday morning in Rasulpara locality of the city. Sources said Abdul Razak Bhatti (45) stabbed Naseem Bhatti (40) to death. Later, he slit his own throat with the knife. He was rushed to civil hospital, where he is fighting for his life. Preliminary investigations suggest Razak is mentally unstable and is in the habit of constantly murmuring that some fanatics would come and kill his family. On Tuesday morning also he was repeating the same and picked up the knife to confront his imaginary assailants. When his wife stopped him, he stabbed her. His neighbours reached the spot on hearing his children shouting for help. Police assume that his mental ailment led him to commit the crime and attempt suicide. Razak and Naseem came to Rajkot from Jetpur two years ago to work as labourers. The couple has four children Afsana (22), Seherbanu (12), Rukaiya (7) and Naeem (4).
