People, I rarely get to read in detail what I share as information, so it was only when Nirmala asked about people with autism and developmental disabilities wrt the recent DOPT circular on transfer policy <http://ccis.nic.in/WriteReadData/CircularPortal/D2/D02adm/42011_3_2014-Estt.Res.-06062014.pdf> and disabled dependents and Amrit replied in the negative, that I went back and checked. Sure enough the description is dated -
> *the word 'disabled' includes (i) blindness or low vision **(ii) hearing > impairment (iii) locomotor disability or Cerebral Palsy (iv) leprosy cured > (v) mental retardation (vi) mental illness and (vii) multiple disabilities.* > - the only saving grace from this otherwise restrictive description is the word 'includes' and the fact the this is not a definition in the true sense of the word. If so what is the status? 2. Mr. Srini - did you share this circular when appealing against the transfer? If so is there any paperwork regarding reason for rejection of your request?
