CMD ALIMCO, Chairman of the Committee Welcomed the members of the Committee participating in the meeting and requested the members to indicate the scope and terms of references of variousresearch/study areas as decided by the Committee in its meeting held on 15.04.2015. 3. The members stated that they would send their inputs on the scope and terms of reference later on. 4. It was decided by the Committee to broadly classify the areas of research/survey/study as decided in its meeting held on 15.04.2015 into 4 broad categories in the order of priority as under : (i) Rehabilitation (ii) Education [iii} Prevention and Early Intervention (iv) Miscellaneous 5. 16 areas of research/survey/ study identified by the Committee are classified into the above 4 categories as under : CATEGORY 1 : REHABILITATION AREA OF RESEARCH SURVEY/ STUDY : 1. New Aids and Assistive devices 2. Psycho-Social Rehabilitation / Socio-economic Studies 3. Impact Assessment Studies inDisability Sector 4. Therapeutic techniques 5. Medical / Surgical Rehabilitation procedure 6. Rehabilitation model /case studies CATEGORY 2 : EDUCATION AREA OF RESEARCH SURVEY/ STUDY : 1. Education and Training modules for empowerment of persons with disabilities 2. Home based education for PwD 3. Education methodology/ e-literacy. CATEGORY 3 : PREVENTION AND EARLY INTERVENTION AREA OF RESEARCH SURVEY/ STUDY : 1. Tools for early detection of disabilities 2. Application of Information and Communication Technology in Disability Sector 3. Research in disability through use of space technology CATEGORY 4 : MISCELLANEOUS AREA OF RESEARCH SURVEY/ STUDY : 1. Implementation of PwD Act 2. Market Research for aids and assistive devices for PwD 3. Standardisation of aids and assistive devices 4. Empowering PwD for participation in sports / recreation activities 5. Problems being faced in timely issuance of disability certificates in the States. 6. These topics are indicative in nature. Any other topics of relevance and importance to achieve for the empowerment of persons with disabilities can be considered from time to time. 7. It was decided by the Committee that the draft scope in respect of each categories of the research /study will be prepared by the Secretariat in consultation with ALlMCO. And the same will be circulated to all members within a period on 1 week. Based on the input received from the members within the Specified period, the report of the Committee will be finalised for submission to the Steering Committee. 8.
