Hello Everyone! >From this little corner of the country, where we have been screaming our heart, head and soul out to be heard - 7 petitions, a PIL, active social media campaign, parents opening up candidly on their experiences, ample print and visual media support and umpteen urgent memos at court- it looks like the State heard a little murmur. *The Draft Guidelines for Standardization of Therapy Centres ( KERALA) is out. * https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_RaN8BMeR6FVUFiQLLrmZP194-wfwxRfFMiaw3fAY7o/edit?usp=sharing So from nothing, we will soon have something. However, the draft seems to have been done in panic and a copy paste effort from somewhere else. There was hardly any time or discussion around what should go into this with any stakeholders in detail. Please find *attached *the Draft guidelines which is up, on the Kerala State Social Security Mission website and also the *comments sent by TWC to the SJD. * Look forward to hearing from you all your comments, suggestions, and any ideas of how to move forward. Please point out *pitfalls and solutions* too as we continue to learn and grow and evolve. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CONTINUED SUPPORT. Best, Seema *P.S Thanks to this movement I have registered myself as a PhD student ( with Vandana Gopikumar as my Supervisor!) and the topic is " Rethinking working with Autism in India - by Empowering Families" - Someday I will submit my thesis. Have been extensively interviewing mothers - its been both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time! * ---------------------------------------- Seema Lal Co-Founder - TogetherWeCan "*Let's move from dependence to independence to interdependence* Psychologist, Special Educator, External PhD Student (VU, Amsterdam) Mob# 9746340362 --------------------------------------------- " #TogetherWeCan Move from Dependence to Independence to Interdependence" [email protected] http://twctogetherwecan.blogspot.com https://www.facebook.com/twcTogetherWeCan.in/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Mental Health Advocacy (News 'N Views) India" group. ------------- Affiliated Groups : MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCACY INDIA [email protected] Discussions on mental health law / policy / plan monitoring / human rights etc [email protected] India-specific news and views related to mental health [email protected] Information and support to carers of people with mental health issues [email protected] Mutual support and sharing of experiential knowledge, skills and social learning amongst peers --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Mental Health Advocacy (News 'N Views) India" group.
