email addresses as a graphic?

Has anyone ever tried to setup mhonarc so that email addresses are included 
as graphics instead of text?

The idea is to create a custom ADDRESSMODIFYCODE routine so that a graphic 
would be created that included the email address in question, and that the 
graphic would be referenced in the generated HTML.

I've got a simple script that will take some text and generate the graphic 
using netpbm, but I really don't know enough perl to modify the routine.
