If you want to switch from foreign to national DVDs without limits and not have the problem of locking your drive forever in to a region, you might want to do a firmware flash with a hacked firmware. See if there is a firmware made for that drive at http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php
You probably know this but, be careful with firmware flashing there is a risk of trashing the drive.
