In a recent post about MHVLUG weekend events, I brought up the idea of having a Django Hackathon some time soon. There was a fair bit of interest expressed so I figured I should start actually planning and getting stuff organized. To start, I've added a page to the MHVLUG wiki at http://mhvlug.org/Django_Hackathon to provide and central place for everything related to the event. Right now it just has a proposed agenda but I will update it as we figure out more details.
At this point, the main thing needed for the event to happen is a location. Someplace with internet access and a projector would be great but we can certainly do well with less. Does anybody have suggestions or even better has the ability to arrange a location? Relatedly, once we have a location and a date there are a number of groups we can announce the event to, to drum up a bit more interest and attendance. These groups include the Hudson Valley Programmers ( http://hvprogrammers.org/) and Django NYC ( http://groups.google.com/group/django-nyc). Suggestions for other groups who may be interested in the event would also be helpful. >From the interest I've seen already this looks like it should be a pretty neat event! ____________________________ Sean O'Connor http://seanoc.com _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Jan 7 - Ruby on Rails Feb 4 - TBD
