I'm having a strange problem with SSH that I'm unable to figure out on my own. I have a laptop, a desktop, and a server, all running Ubuntu. The problem I'm having is with the laptop (I think)
When I ssh to my server directly via it's IP I get: ssh: connect to host 192.168.1.103 port 22: Connection refused If I enter the same exact command on my desktop, I am able to connect to my server with no problem. If I open port 22 on my firewall, then ssh to john.mort.net (which goes to my server) I am able to connect to the server via SSH from my laptop. I've been checking /var/log/auth.log on the server and nothing is mentioned about rejecting connection attempts from the laptop. I'm perplexed, any guidance would be appreciated. -- John D.
