Also:
1) You can also perform all of these steps from the Ubuntu LiveCD, if
you'd like to have access to all of the GUI stuff.
2) The 10.04 LiveCD will work for repairing a b0rked 10.10 install.
3) When you get your system up and running again, make sure to run
'dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc' and make sure that grub installs to the right
place so you don't have to do it all again next dist-upgrade.
