Kris before you do I would just look at some of Chris Knadle's thoughts, it may save you time and reveal the problem that may occur latter down the road anyway. See if you can't find the theoretical speed of that drive and see what a benchmark returns. Also Bruce has recapped his presentation from last year :P and also has some great thoughts especially the SMART errors and ext3 to ext4.
