Recently Sean notified me that IBM has certified Linux in a way that I can
still be "complaint" while running Ubuntu ( also was able to run the one VB
app I need under WINE... finally ).
Thus I want to go back to Linux ( was forced off by the "PGP desktop"
mandate ) so logically I want to back up all my files and install Linux.

But is there a backup and restore method that works for both Windows XP and
Linux? That is I would need to selectively restore files under Linux but
also be able to do a full Windows restore.
Unlike tar and other Unix solutions I would like an ability to go back if
something does not work out. That is to say restore Windows XP ( just in
case, some insurance )
So has anyone been in this situation and can share some constructive
suggestions. Please technical responses ONLY.
