Okay.

In this case I'm honestly trying to figure out if I'm really missing
something. :-P

Well, that's sort of what I expected the answer might have been -- and that's
okay -- but I didn't want to assume that's what it was. Part of why I'm
asking is that I don't want to be a luddite, at the same time that I don't
want to get "hooked on" convenience too much. It isn't simple to gauge where
that line is, so I was trying to figure out what I might have been missing in
this situation.

For instance, I never wanted to have a cell phone at all -- and then one day I
was moving between houses and the rental truck broke down right in the parking
lot of a gas station. You'd expect that a gas station would have a phone so
that I could make a call. Nope. And no pay phones in sight.

So that's why I was trying to figure out what I might be missing when it comes
to having the internet "in my pocket" when it comes to computer repair, so
that I don't have to be "blindsided" to see why I might actually need it.
