The ACM has an upcoming talk that might be of interest to the group here.
On Sept 19 Dr. Dilma Da Silva, IBM Yorktown, will speak on "Lessons
Learned from Building the K42 Operating System".
K42 is an open source research OS that supports the Linux ABI/API but
has different internals for experimenting with Virtualization and
Multiprocessing models. I worked with Dilma back when I was doing Xen
development, as her team was pushing some interesting boundaries and
experimenting with new ways of doing virtualization. She's a great
resource, so I'm personally looking very forward to this talk.
This will take place at the Hancock Building at Marist. Complete info on
the talk can be found at: http://pok.acm.org/
