The location for the meeting should be closest to those who organize the meeting, and close to where it's historically been held. That means Poughkeepsie. Newburgh is 20 miles and on the other side of the river from the organizers. If you'd like to see a LUG that's in a closer location to where you are, then you could start looking into creating one. It's a lot of work -- you need to figure out how to finance it, where to meet, and line up speakers. And being that it's a lot of work, it makes sense for the meeting to be close by to who is doing all that effort. > Don't forget we are used to having broadband internet access. I'm sure the organizers will do what they can, but this is not something that is fundamentally essential for MHVLUG meetings to be functional. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [email protected] _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Oct 5 - Distributed Authentication Systems Nov 2 - Nov 2011 Dec 7 - Chef
