A bit of an exaggeration, but otherwise it's consistent with the Tesla biography that I read (and was probably the source material of this page). One very important lesson for us geeks that Tesla never learned: Finish what you started. See, Tesla convinced several important investors to finance a hight voltage line bringing power from the Niagara hydro-electric dam to NYC. And then, at the celebratory grand opening dinner, he announced that he's working on a wireless electricity distribution system that will make this huge investment useless. Needless to say, you could have heard a pin drop. From that point on, Westinghouse was on damage control mode as far as Tesla was concerned, and he had trouble finding financing. Don't do that. --Fred Mora _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) Vassar College Oct 3 - Mobile Web Development Nov 7 - Typography: Physical Art to Digital Art Dec 5 - Sysadmin Panel
