Ok as I dive yet head first in to another hobby and shed some
"non-productive" ones (HAM) it all comes back to be grounded in OSS. I
speak of getting back in to Photography, but this time with focus on really
understanding what I am doing and need to do.

Every amateur and pro needs back end processing, usually done on Adobe's
Photoshop and or Lightroom. But as Adobe's new pay each month policy
http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2013/05/what-photoshops-move-to-the-cloud-actually-means-for-you/most
people are looking for an alternative. One option is
http://www.digikam.org/ a program created by photographers focused on there
needed. Thus I will ask the obligatory question if and when I become
proficient enough, would a talk in this subject be of interest to the group?

Also of note are these two local Photography groups:
http://www.midhudsonphotographyclub.org
http://www.hvphotonet.org/

If anyone has any insights in to these local groups *please contact me off
the list.* The idea is to create a presentation on Digikam and be able to
"re-use" it for other groups. To "introduce" F/OSS to people that may not
have been formally introduced.
