They're #6 on Distrowatch and they had a release (13.1) in November. I loaded 12.1 in a VM a little over a year ago while I was doing some testing and found it relatively pleasing. I also occasionally load a OpenSuSE LiveCD when they have new test KDE releases so that I can "see what's coming". Novell has had controversy concerning their patent agreement with Microsoft (which was renewed in 2011), after which Novell seemed to become out-of-favor with open source advocates. OpenSuSE seems to be soldiering on AFAICT. None of the friends I speak to are running it today AFAIK, mostly because those that were transitioned off of SuSE during the time it was still commercial. The only particular quirk with OpenSuSE is having to use (or work around) the YaST configuration tool. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [email protected] _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) Vassar College Feb 5 - Nginx Mar 5 - March Meeting: 11th Anniversary Apr 2 - Google App Engine
