A firewall is something that selectively blocks traffic to protect various
services from attack. For a single Amiga, a true firewall isn't really
necessary, since one can get essentially the same effect from Miami's IP
Filter.
With multiple machines connetcted by a LAN, having a firewall between the
net and the LAN allows machines on the LAN to communicate in a "trusted"
fashion while keeping outside parties out. If MiamiDx is used as the
network gateway, its firewall features can accomplish this.
