FWIW, my ISP made a name-change awhile back -- from leading.net to fdn.com --
but the old names still work. I can send mail to myself as [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED], and they both show up on my machine like normal. (I've
got a .forward file set up there...) So, it may not be necessary to update
your email address here. But then again, why take chances? :-)
Doesn't really matter in my case, though, since I've got my own registered
domain name... so even if I change ISPs, there's no need to change anything
on any mailing lists I might be on...
Course, some people maintain one of those freeby web-email thingies for
themselves -- like yahoo.com or the like -- as a back-up mail address in
case they DO lose their ISP or something.
Speaking of Yahoo.com, be advised that they place your "regular" e-address
in their headings when you post from there, rather than [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I had to get a Yahoo e-address due to a technical difficulty with my regular
email service which I won't go into here. I saw no reference to the above
"feature" on Yahoo's site, and I didn't find out about it until I finally
got my email service working again, and discovered that all replies to my
Yahoo mail had gone to my regular email addy, including one where I'd
attempted to independantly subscribe to one of the other Amiga mailing
lists (where I was going to ask for tech-help in getting my email working
again...)
