Additional caution: Make sure you completely flush the old system with a proper AC flush. Since your compressor is dying, there may be little metallic bits floating around your AC system, and you want to make darned sure they're outta there. If one of those gets in your "new" compressor.. Well.. Say bye-bye to the seals.

Your AC system is an R-12 system, and his is an R-134.
