Ok, so, fixed all the oil leaking/broken crap last night (HUGE thanks to
the guy whose name eludes me that pointed me to Advance Auto for the pipe
extractor, square thing that eventually got it out intact!). No leaks, all
seems good. Amazing given the sheer number of fittings and the looseness
of the thread fits!
New oil pressure readings
7am before the sun came up
65* degrees air temp
Mechanical gauge on stock OPG sender location
Rotella T 20w50 oil, maybe 300 miles since oil change
cold idle, 60
hot idle 20
Cold 3k+ over 100
hot cruise at 3800-4k, 60
Soooo.... WAY higher. The Autometer is still boned (60 at cruise = 30ish
on the Autometer). Very surprised at the cold high pressure, tho.. pegged
out (and still climbing) at 100psi and I was below 3k rpm. I think I may
be switching back to a lighter weight oil now that I know the gauge is bad
and that pressure is still (very) good... unless those pressures are ok?
The cold above 3k kind of scares me!
One question I had in putting it back together:
The remote filter adapter has 2 connections, one in the center, one
off-center. The remote filter housing has the same, one to center, one to
the side. However, I have the remote cooler as well. What is the right
way to have it hooked up? One line from the block adapter goes to the
cooler, and then cooler to the filter then filter back to block.. I believe
I have it center of block to cooler, cooler to center of filter, ring of
filter to ring of block.. is that right?
