Me either.  Guess it was just a term of the compromise (note that Moseley is
only agreeing to not seek re-election, not to step down).

I can understand them
wanting Max gone after what he did last week before the teams called for the
split but I can’t understand agreeing to the cap.

  FWIW, it appears that--wait
for it--Max Moseley was apparently the burr in FOTA's collective butt,
because they've agreed to the budget constraints (which I still think are
crazy), but only because Mr. Moseley has finally decided to not seek
re-election.  Personally, I'd love to see a Nixon-esque moment of
Moseley flying off into the sunset...and the helicopter exploding in a ball
  of money :-p

About $2.2bn US, actually.  That's the impact of
the FOTA teams taking their ball and going home (and forming their own
    series).

    I
do wonder how much of Bernie’s $Billion  personal fortune would
evaporate should this come to pass and be successful.

I for one hope the teams stand together and tell Bernie and
Max to stick it where the sun  doesn’t shine.
