Gentlemen, BC has a pretty good memory. I did have a vintage FMII (before it was called that, I think). I did have a griddle heat shield, which I took off after the mounts broke several times.
However, since then, I have upgraded to a tubular manifold and a T3/T4E setup. I haven't had a problem in the 3 years it has been on - without a heat shield. Towing up a long grade (in low boost) generated enough heat to melt things. So BB, you don't have to worry that your design failed. I never had your heat shield. I would be interesting to see if it would fit. The design of the setup is nearly a one of, however. I can send some photos to Bill Bowser to see if he thinks it would fit.
