I used the IO Port mount during the Targa. Can't say I was ever bothered
by vibration even on those roads.

The street one made me laugh, that's awesome! :)

I am looking at the IO port, was the first choice in fact. I
like the simplicity of your heavier mount, which is what I had in mind.
This would be for track use, and I only have a horizontal harness bar in
the RX7 to work with. The Miata could be outfitted the same, tho, since
I have the same bar in roughly the same place.

Do you have any sample video from the heavier mount?

        two diy options I've used:

        for the street-

        for the track-

I've personally found that the more solid the mount is with an
image
stabilized recorder, the better the quality. I've used the IO
mount
with rubber isolator in the same car and the solid arm produces
better
results. It's almost as if the damper wreaks havoc with the
image
        stabilization.

That's just an exhaust clamp with a hose on the Ubolt and the
armature
welded up to the flat piece. It will handle a larger camera
fine.
