I was replacing the brakes on my '96 yesterday, and after I was done and went
to siphon out the fluid and put in some fresh, I decided to check the clutch
fluid as well. The last time I checked it was in April before my Spring Gap
trip. The lid was very had to take off, and when I did could tell something
was wrong from the way it felt. Once I got it off, I was horrified to see the
fluid in the reservoir looked like molasses. It was very think. What could
do that? I'm already planning to replace the MC and slave as precaution. I'm
thinking water and combined with the fact it was below freezing when I was
working on it.
