OK.  I was going to say that if it's bucking, then I'd suspect your Cam 
Position Sensor.  On 01-05 NB's, they can eventually short out due to heat 
causing some interesting problems.

Well...it's just your average mis-fire.  It is not as sharp as it can
be with the Miata but that may be due to the 6 vs 4 cylinders and/or
auto vs stick or even much newer drive train isolation.  It is a softer
version of the miss I get, rarely, in the Miata.  Ease up or press
harder on the throttle and it stops.  I would suspect  plug wires but
it has coil on plug.  It is the light/part throttle that has me puzzled.
