I am not an expert, but I would not use those cam caps as shown. They need to
be smooth, and they didn't come from the factory like that. Is that from oil
starvation?

Man, I cannot catch a break. ~1200 miles into ownership of a used Subaru
Legacy GT ('06, ~67k mi) my turbo failed. That sucked plenty.
Now, 1500 miles later... spun bearing! Trying to figure out if I need a new
long block or could get by with a shortblock or rebuild the one I have. Please
look at the attached pictures- the cap in particular. Toast?
No cam bearings in these cars, just the alu caps.
