I meant to type crank position sensor, not crank angle sensor. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On Behalf Of Lloyd Broussard Sent: Thursday, January 27, 2011 7:54 PM To: Miata Power List Subject: Crank angle sensor Hey guys, I'm almost ready to drop the replacement '95 engine into my '97 Miata. Pretty much all I have left to do is to mount the crank position sensor to the front of the engine. Where the sensor is to be mounted, on the '95 engine there is a hole from the factory, but it isn't threaded. Should I simply tap it and get a shorter bolt to lock the sensor down? Or is there a plug in the hole that I can back out? The bolt holding the sensor on the '97 engine was long and thin. I'm thinking that I need to top the hole and mount the sensor. It seems pretty simple solution, but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
