Hi all, Am I the only woman on the MichiMac list? I'm in Royal Oak, just north of Detroit. My @home connection is still alive and well through Comcast, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I gambled and didn't get the built-in modem on my G4, put a Stealth Serial card in there instead to run my workhorse Personal LaserWriter 320, which I bought refurbed 6 years ago.
Running a G4/533 with ZIP, loaded w/RAM, scsi card, external Yamaha 4416 burner, Umax scanner (yeah, it's still working), Epson stylus color 800, AudioWerk2 PCI sound card in the G4 hooked up to receiver, turntable, cassette deck to feed my audio habit of burning LPs to CD. Also have a PBook G3/233 'Wallstreet' with ZIP which I've been wanting to sell, if anyone is interested. It's pretty stock except for the ZIP for the expansion bay and 192MB RAM, 2 batteries, auto adapter, scsi cable. I sold my 8500 when I got the G4 and now regret it. It was a sweet machine, but I needed the $$ so I parted it out. Still have the case in pristeen condition if anyone is in need. Have been getting the stuff together to make a Macquarium out of an old Mac Classic II, but have more ambition then time on that one. Got into an Apple IIe way back in '84, still have a working IIGS as well. My first Mac was a Quadra 605, then a Performa 6220, then the 8500. Gotta love this G4 though, it's just so much easier to get into the case when I need to.
