Is it an Adaptec card? What you may find is what I found trying a combo FW/USB 2.0 card in a Umax C600--the card was engineered as a PCI 2.2 standard card and thus not compatible with 2.1 or earlier PCI slots. As for me, FW works but USB doesn't. Likely the e-docs in pdf format don't really say. You'll have to check out the detailed specs on the product page. Pre-rev.B beige G3s are 2.1 compliant and the earlier 6400-era machines are 2.0 compliant. Simply put, the newer cards, especially the connectivity cards, are troublesome. xlr8yourmac has quite the page when it comes to FW cards. -- Pax, Pastor Mac Made on a Macintosh, of course. -- MichiMac is sponsored by Dan Knight of <http://lowendmac.com/>. / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> MichiMac list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/michimac.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/michimac%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Macintosh?
