In a related note, I FINALLY hooked my router up that I traded for a Radius Pivot monitor last year. Yup, I'm putting that old Centris 660AV in the basement to work burning CD's. As I make my audio files from MP3's or band recordings, I just copy them to the networked HD from the 660 that's on the 8600's desktop upstairs. I also moved the 4.3 GB HD off the floor off the 8600. It was sitting on 2 strips of foam. It's in the bay that once housed my CD-R drive. It was a lot quieter on the foam than it is now! Of course, I think that fixed the data corruption problem I had due to improper SCSI cable routing/termination/length, so I guess it's worth it. Has a date been picked yet ?
