Trick or treat: finder gremlins under OS 9.1? Has anyone run into the problem of having to rebuild the desktop on every start under OS 9.1 in order to get desktop icons and folders to open with the normal double click of the mouse?? I installed OS 9.1 on both my 9500 and my 7300, from separate install disks, and found that I could open desktop icons and folders by choosing "open" from the file menu, but the normal double click on their icons would do nothing. When I rebuilt the desktop file, things worked fine. But on the next restart the problem reoccured. Unless I rebuilt the desktop on every start, the goblin stayed. I am thinking of going for a low tech solution. Perhaps leave some Haloween candy on top of the machines overnight? Any other suggestions??
