Hi JoJo,
Didn't realize your quick eye would detect the Red Hat sticker.matter
of fact my intro to linux dates back to release of Red Hat 8 distro
gifted by a niece in New York.We had no broad band in India then.Used
dialup via an internal modem on Win 98 which had no driver support
with Linux. It was the begiining of many long hours trying make my
Connexant modem work on Red Hat 8.Linuxant of Canada was trying to
develop a beta driver for the hsfmodem.I used to communicate with
M.Jean-Simon Durand of Linuxant who like you and GWater was helpful.I
got the thrill of my life disproving Linux geeks here contending my
effort was a wild goose chase when my internal modem started to work.I
still have the beta version of the hsfmodem driver which works well
even now,but now we have broad band even in a small town in Kerala
where I live.I am a senior retired Air Force Officer specialised in
Photography.
Thanks for the mail.sincerely,Kesava
