luvcview only seem to support any other format then MJPG ( it also does not work even when using libv4l).
Try using mplayer or cheese, also don't forget to us libv4l when using the program you choose, this is necessary because many webcam clients don't support our formats natively. Using libv4l is described in the README that comes with the driver.
