We are doing this for humans. We're doing it so that people don't have to repeat data multiple times on the same page.
I think I'll go read up on the hResume example so I understand this better... It doesn't seem like such a big deal to repeat the data,
But people *don't* repeat that data - they don't put their name with every title in their resume, they don't repeat product information 20 times on the same page.
but I'll read up more because that's not a very informed perspective to take... Homework time!
