You can get along on 1500 watts continuous, but for a 3000 sq ft house that's pretty minimal. My plant produces about 2000 watts continuous for my 2000 sq ft house and its enough if I'm thrifty (e.g. compact fluorescent light bulbs everywhere, turn the computers off at night, that kind of thing) It's probably not enough to start a standard washing machine motor by itself, you will need to add a battery bank and inverter set up for that.
Also not enough for any kind of heating load, e.g. furnace, water heater, range, dryer, toaster oven, etc. You might be better off bringing in power if its only a mile away, e.g. cheaper by the time you're done. Unless its something you will enjoy doing yourself (like me). [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------ Yahoo!
