Hi Sudarshan:

Did you have the thickness by now? If no, you may calculate it with the 
formula:

e = p* D / 2 sigma

p= max. penstock presure multiplied by a factor about 2 (for water hammer 
prevention) in (kg/cm2)
D= diameter in (cm)
e= thickness (cm)
sigma= design working stress....for commercial steel SAE 1020 or 1030 you 
can take some 800 kg/cm2.
