Things of the microhydro, David.

Here is another history case:
Some years ago a turbine was suddenly stopped. After opening it, we found a
mouse in the nozzle of the cross flow 5 kWe turbine set, located between
nozzle top and flow regulator valve. The nozzle is only 50 mm width, as
gross head is 63 m. The mouse comes inside 6" dia. PVC penstock with his
head pointing down and became "wedge formed" (as in Tom & Jerry films); was
very funny (for us not for the mouse, indeed).
Preventing future problems we had taked out the flow regulator valve and
turbine runs very well without it, fixing the flow by means of the butterfly
valve installed in the pipe about 2 m up flow from the turbine entrance.
