Hello Martin,
Boat propellers can not be used as axial flew turbine runners because the 
blade tips are rounded and so don't fit well inside the turbine tube, for 
operation with pressure head. Instead of those, axial pumps runners can be 
good, easy obtained from industrial pump manufacturers.
The axial turbine runner have blades with circular arc tips, mounted with a 
very small gap, no more than 1 mm, between tip and tube.
